The Council of Albanian Ambassadors supports the UN resolution on Srebrenica genocide.

Tirana, May 25th 2024

On behalf of the Council of Albanian Ambassadors, we express our unequivocal support to the recent United Nations resolution 78/282, condemning any denial of the Srebrenica genocide.

We stand in solidarity with the survivors and the families of the victims. The memory of Srebrenica must serve as a poignant reminder of our collective responsibility to prevent such tragedies in the future.

Adopting and endorsing this Resolution and designating 11 July as the “International Day of Reflection and Commemoration of the 1995 Genocide in Srebrenica”, the International Community reaffirmed its commitment to promoting peace, reconciliation, and the upholding of human rights.

The Council of Albanian Ambassadors considers the endorsement of this Resolution as an important step towards furthering stability, security and peace in our region.

Further more, we encourage all sides, inside and outside Albania, to engage in preparing and adopting a resolution acknowledging and condemning the serbian genocide in Kosova.
