The Council of Albanian Ambassadors joins other calls towards to all EU member states, to unanimously decide the opening of accession negotiations with Albania and North Macedonia.

Both countries are fully aware that opening accession negotiations does not imply automatic accession, but a closer relationship and scrutiny of reform implementation.

Enlargement process has always strengthened the European Union, and has never hampered internal reforms needed in view of new challenges.

The Council of Albanian Ambassadors believes that a positive decision to open EU accession negotiations with Albania and North Macedonia in this moment, would be of extraordinary importance for the rhythm of reforms in both candidate countries as well as for the credibility of European institutions.
