Council of Albanian Ambassadors met with the Chairmen of the Parliamentary Groups and members of the opposition in the Parliament of Kosovo.

Following the official visit to Pristina, the delegation of the Council of Albanian Ambassadors, held special working meetings with the Chairmen of the Parliamentary Groups and members of the opposition in the Parliament of Kosovo.

The Council’s delegation was received by Mr. Arben Gashi, Chairman of the General Assembly of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Mr. Abelard Tahiri, Chairman of the General Assembly of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and Mr. Besnik Tahiri, Chairman of the General Assembly of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK).

The chairmen of the PG of LDK, PDK and AAK in these meetings were also accompanied by the deputies of the respective parties, members and chairs of the Foreign Affairs Committee, European Integrations and the Security Committee of the Parliament of Kosovo.

During these meetings, opinions and evaluations were exchanged regarding the latest developments in Kosovo and the region.
The parties presented ideas and suggestions for the coordination of efforts and initiatives, in order to solve the situation created in the north of Kosovo, as well as to advance the fulfillment of the European integration objectives of our countries.

The Council of Albanian Ambassadors appreciated the development of internal democratic processes in the Republic of Kosovo, as an example for the entire region and highly appreciated how the elections and the democratic process are conducted, as well as the respect and non-disputing of their results by the citizens, but also by all the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.

In this context, Kosovo’s application for membership in the European Union was evaluated as a historic event, as well as well deserved and fully supported by the achievements of the required European standards by the Republic of Kosovo.

The members of the Council of Albanian Ambassadors delegation, in conversation with the chairmen and members of the GP of LDK, PDK and AAK, emphasized the importance of concentrating all efforts towards the Kosovo-Serbia negotiations, mediated by the EU and the United States of America, despite the efforts of Belgrade and its tools in the north of Kosovo, to artificially escalate tensions, in order to block the negotiations for the normalization and mutual recognition of the two countries, which would serve to further strengthen peace, security, stability and development of the whole region.

The Council of Albanian Ambassadors believes that the unification of the Albanian political factor and the overcoming of the current political divisions, in order to cope with the situation created with Serbia, are of fundamental national importance.

During the conversation of the Council’s delegation with the heads of the PG of the Parliament of Kosovo, the irreplaceable role of Parliamentary Diplomacy was discussed, as a good instrument for direct communication and showing the truth about Kosovo and the developments around it.

The chairmen of the PG of the oppositions expressed that they closely follow our activities and appreciated the role of the Council of Albanian Ambassadors in these difficult moments for Kosovo. They also expressed their readiness and full commitment for coordination and cooperation between the Parliamentary Groups and Council of Albanian Ambassadors.

The voice of the highly respected members of Council of Albanian Ambassadors, was emphasized by some of the interlocutors, members of the Parliament of Kosovo, should be stronger and present for all developments in our territories, as it carries an irreplaceable professional experience.

Council of Albanian Ambassadors, expressed that it is ready to help with all its capacities, both with experience and diplomatic and their contacts wherever possible, but also with geopolitical assessments, in support of Kosovo’s membership in organizations various international ones, as well as with the engagement with the ties that KAS has in the non-recognizing states of Kosovo.
