The Council of Albanian Ambassadors (CAA) closely followed the process of holding general elections in Kosovo on 9 February, the ninth in a row, since the creation of the new State of the Republic of Kosovo.
CAA welcomes, in particular, the conduct of these elections according to the best international standards. We join the findings of the International Observation Mission, under the leadership of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, according to which the elections were regular, peaceful and inclusive.
CAA thanks all local and international monitoring groups, which observed the electoral process of 9 February in Kosovo and positively assessed their implementation.
The Council of Albanian Ambassadors appreciates the behavior of the Albanian electorate, inside and outside Kosovo, and those of national minorities, in fulfilling their civic duty to provide Kosovo with democratic institutions for the governance of the country.
The Council of Albanian Ambassadors expresses its conviction that the political class of Kosovo will know how to best manage the trust placed in it by its electorate to further democratic processes in the country, to strengthen Kosovo’s cooperation with its international partners, to promote Euro-Atlantic integration processes and to give Kosovo its deserved place in the United Nations.
