Tirana, 12 October 2026

The Council of Albanian Ambassadors (CAA) is following recent political and institutional developments in the Western Balkans, particularly in Kosovo, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Council reiterates the importance of democratic institutions, the rule of law, judicial independence, and respect for human rights as essential foundations for regional stability and European integration.

Regarding Kosovo, CAA emphasizes the importance of institutional stability, respect for constitutional processes, and the protection of the rights of all communities. We believe that addressing sensitive issues through dialogue, mutual understanding, and respect for international commitments remains essential.

The Council also encourages continued engagement between Kosovo and Serbia through the EU-facilitated dialogue, with the objective of achieving lasting normalization of relations, based on mutual respect and the realities of the region.

CAA values the continued engagement of the European Union, NATO, and the OSCE in supporting peace, democratic governance, and regional cooperation.

As an independent association of experienced diplomats, the Council remains committed to promoting constructive dialogue, good-neighborly relations, and the European future of the Western Balkans.
