The recognition of the self-declared republics of Donetsk and Luhansk by Russia is a clear violation of international law and of the Minsk agreement, and seriously undermines territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.

Council of Albanian Ambassadors believes that, this should serve as an urgent appeal for the international community to act quickly to stop acts of aggression and turn to the negation table and settle disputes in a peaceful manner.

Albania will continue to stand close to Ukraine respecting its territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as the history of the country.

Ukraine’s aspiration to decide on its future path both joining EU and NATO are merely on its citizen’s rights and a fundamental column of a democratic country.
